'The Homing Instinct' to be screened
at the Sage Gateshead

Meerkat's 'The Homing Instinct' is
to feature as part of the Sage's
Words and Music Festival, where it will be screened on Sunday
16th May at 3:30pm and 5:00pm. Also featured during the festival is a new
musical work that was inspired by the film called 'Homing In'.

drama 'The Ball'

Meerkat's first short of 2010 is a
collaboration between director Katja Roberts and writer Bridget
Deane. The film has a cast of children and features
up-and-coming Natalie Garner, who has since acted in the BBC's
'Inspector George Gently'

Meerkat complete production of their
drama 'Because I Like you'

Meerkat's first venture into drama,
'Because I Like you' is a 10min film funded by Northern Film and
Media and the UK Film Council. The film was shot on the Red
One camera and stars Daniel Frost and Sophie Wu.

Meerkat Films will
be creating a web TV station

To co-inside with their 40th
anniversary, the world renowned
Amber Films
have joined forces with Meerkat Films to create a Web TV station
called SideTV.net. Alongside Amber's own films will be work from
other independent filmmakers from around the country. The
service will be free for all and content will change weekly.

4Talent Award 2008

Magnus Dennison and Katja Roberts
have been shortlisted for the Long Documentary Category of the
4Talent Awards for 2008. The decision was made on the back of
Meerkat Films' documentary 'The Homing Instinct'. The final
result will be announced end of October 2008.

Meerkat Films' Documentary
'The Homing Instinct' to be screened on National Television

The Homing Instinct was completed
earlier this year and has so far been screened at the Baltic,
Gateshead as part of the Northern Film and Media's exhibition of the
Capture films 2008. We are hoping for screening at Documentary
film festivals in the UK, France, Germany and Spain, before its
broadcast on Community Channel next year.
