A 1 disc pack
Inspirational and award-winning teacher Lisa Parker teaches Dalcroze solfège to adults at the Geneva Congress in 2007. This complete class demonstrates how the instinctive human response to music can be
channelled to become an intellectual understanding of harmony and note function.
Lisa Parker’s approach is designed to take away the fear often associated with learning solfège and harmonic analysis. It allows students to draw on their own physical responses to how certain harmonies make them feel. This builds confidence in the student in their ability to hear,
therefore recognise harmonies and analyse them.
The class is taught using the fixed-do system but given the nature of the exercises, will be equally useful to people who use movable-do. It covers harmonic analysis, di-chords, tri-chords and modulation, all taught through physical movement, singing, vocal improvisation and reference to existing musical examples.
The disc also contains a short interview in which Lisa Parker talks about her approach to solfège with references to the lesson shown. For anyone who studies, teaches, or is interested in solfège - this disc is a must.
